Frequently Asked Questions
Can I import my existing data?
Yes. You can import your animals from a CSV file, and you can export your data to CSV from any list page whenever you want.
Who owns my data?
You do. Export everything as CSV or download a full JSON backup of your account, share individual animal profiles publicly, and delete your account to permanently remove all data.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. ScaleVault is a progressive web app, so you can install it straight from your browser on iOS or Android and it feels like a native app. It even works offline: log feedings and events without a signal and they'll sync when you reconnect.
What species are supported?
Pretty much anything you keep, whether that's reptiles, amphibians, or something else. There's a shared library of common herp species (ball pythons, leopard geckos, corn snakes, and lots more) with husbandry ranges already filled in, and you can add your own custom species too. One heads-up: the species fields (temperature, humidity, incubation) are built around reptile and amphibian care, so other animals might not fit every field perfectly yet.
