Feeder detail

Available on Juvenile and above. Go to Feeders in the main navigation.

Feeder colonies let you manage your live prey stock alongside your animal collection — so you always know what you have on hand and how much you've consumed.

Colony overview

Each colony has a species (e.g., dubia roach, cricket, pinky mouse), a current stock count, and optional notes. The colony list shows you a quick count at a glance so you can reorder before you run out.

Breeders & pairings

Within a colony you can designate individual breeder animals, then log pairings between them. This is useful for maintaining genetic diversity in larger roach or rat colonies.

Harvests

Log a harvest each time you pull feeders from a colony for feeding. A harvest records:

  • Date and quantity taken
  • Optional batch notes (e.g., "culled small ones")

Harvest totals roll up to the colony's consumption history so you can see usage trends over time.

Linking feeders to feedings

When logging a feeding on an animal, you can select a feeder colony as the source. The feeding record references the colony and optionally deducts from the stock count automatically.

Tips

  • Set a reorder threshold in the colony notes so staff know when to place an order.
  • Use the harvest log as a sanity-check against your feeding logs — if numbers don't match, a feeding may have been missed.
