Morph calculator

The morph calculator predicts offspring trait probabilities from two parent animals using Punnett squares. Available on the Adult plan and above. Access from Morphs → Calculator in the navigation.

Supported species

Ball pythons, leopard geckos, and corn snakes are supported out of the box, with ~75 traits covering recessive, co-dominant/incomplete-dominant, and dominant inheritance patterns. More species can be added by the ops team on request.

How to use it

  1. Select the species.
  2. Pick each parent's traits from the trait list. For recessive traits, toggle het if the animal is a heterozygous carrier rather than visually expressing the trait.
  3. Click Calculate — the results table shows every possible offspring combination with its probability.

Saving and sharing

  • Save — store the calculation to your account for future reference. You can optionally link it to a pairing record.
  • Share — generates a public link (/morphs/[token]) anyone can view without signing in. Useful for listing offspring probabilities on your breeder page or in marketplace listings.
  • Saved calculations appear on the pairing detail page when linked.

Tips

  • Use Super instead of het for co-dominant traits when one parent is a super form (e.g. Super Pastel, Super Enchi).
  • Dominant traits (e.g. Pied modifier in some species) are treated as always visually expressed — toggle them on only if the parent carries the trait.
  • The calculator does not account for incomplete penetrance or polygenic traits (e.g. scaleless, piebald percentage). Use it as a guide, not a guarantee.
